about the artist

Cristina Ford is a Richmond-based artist, writer, and creative communicator. Trained in both traditional and conceptual art, Cristina graduated with her BFA from The College of New Jersey. She received the Thomas George Artist Fund Award early in her career, launching her into full-time production of work in 2011.

Following several years in the local and community art sphere, partnerships with galleries, an artist fellowship, and the gift of coaching and collaborating with other local creatives, Cristina began to merge her creative abilities with other professional endeavors.

She has worked in ministry, non-profit financial development, and channeled her passions into work as an editor and writer for a broadcasting and media network.

It was a life-altering season of illness that turned her attention to art once more. After an unexpected experience of healing—and the process of learning to walk in it—she is approaching her work, and life, anew.

If she’s not writing, creating, or sharing stories over coffee, you’ll most likely find her with her husband, Ben—either exploring Richmond or planning their next adventure abroad.
